The sea voyage is complete, but the journey is not. Also continuing is the careful manner in which the vehicles are handled. No detail is too small when it comes to ensuring your MX-5 RF Launch Edition arrives in perfect condition.
STAGING AND ACCESSORIES
After the cars are precisely unloaded and driven to a special staging area where they undergo an initial inspection, they’re moved to the accessories workshop where any additional equipment is added. Then they’re prepped and delivered to carriers for the final stage of a journey already thousands of miles long.
Another Ride or Two
Roadways and Railways
At this point, some of the roadsters will take their very first road trip. Sort of. It all depends on the distance to dealership. If it’s a short enough trip, the new Launch Editions will be trucked on car carriers. For destinations further away, the cars are sent by train to rail hubs where they are loaded onto trucks for shipment to dealers.
Almost Home
Finally, after several weeks and several thousand miles (but hardly any on the odometer), the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition—the most special of cars—will arrive at dealerships. But thanks to you, it won’t be there for long. Protective plastic covers are removed, the cars undergo another cosmetic inspection, fluids are checked, gas tanks are filled and every car gets a thorough washing. Only then will a lucky owner be notified that his or her car is ready. And you should be getting that notice very soon.
