Mazda 767B Driving on a Racetrack

MAZDA 767B

A pivotal car in the racing history of Mazda, this vehicle is powered by a four-rotor Wankel rotary engine. It competed in the Group C Junior class at iconic events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 767B helped refine the Mazda rotary technology and laid the groundwork for the legendary historic victory of the 787B in 1991.

This vehicle marked an evolution in the Mazda pursuit of endurance racing excellence. Featuring an improved four-rotor R26B rotary engine, the 787 showcased increased reliability and performance. While it didn’t secure a win at Le Mans, it served as a critical development platform for the 787B, which would go on to achieve motorsport immortality.

Mazda RX-7 GTO Driving on a Racetrack

MAZDA RX-7 GTO

This vehicle was a dominant force in IMSA racing, showcasing the versatility and power of the Mazda rotary engine technology. Built for the Grand Touring Over (GTO) class, it featured a turbocharged 13B two-rotor engine that delivered exceptional performance. The RX-7 GTO claimed multiple victories, including helping Mazda secure the 1991 IMSA Manufacturer’s Championship, cementing its legacy as a rotary-powered icon.

This vehicle was the ambitious foray into the IMSA GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) Mazda class. Powered by a turbocharged four-rotor R26B engine, it represented the Mazda continued commitment to rotary innovation. Though reliability issues limited its success on the track, the RX-792P remains a bold example of Mazda engineering creativity and its pursuit of excellence in prototype racing.

The Mazda MX-5 Cup series awards over $1 million in year-end and per race prizes, including a $250,000 payout for the champion, and thrills for every spectator who witnesses it.
